Leah West is a Haines City, Polk County native. She is a graduate of Polk State College, Warner University, and the globally esteemed Harvard Business School. She uses her talents and skills as the Outreach Representative/Immigration Specialist, and the Health and Justice Advisory Board Coordinator for the Office of Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09).


She is passionate about serving the community and working with various institutions, civic, cultural groups, and government agencies. West is a perspicacious leader and volunteer. She dedicates her efforts to being active, accessible and resourceful to constituents who need assistance with government inquiries.

As an advocate for positive change and empowerment, she serves as a liaison throughout Congressional District 9 to inform and empower constituents about legislative, policies and developments and available resources in federal and district agencies so the

constituents can create a better quality of life.


West is civically, politically, and socially engaged. She has organized and coordinated

many successful community events with dignitaries, diplomats and ambassadors. In

2023, she organized the Osceola Juneteenth White House Initiatives for Black Americans

Roundtable with the Biden-Harris Officials. West is an astute business strategist and the

founder of a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), She is the recipient of the 2023

Caribbean and Floridian Association (CAFA) Community Service Award, 2023 African

American Chamber of Polk County, Citizen of the Year Award; 2021 National Coalition of

100 Black Women Public Policy Advocacy Award. She and her husband were the

recipients of the 2019 Juneteenth Polk County Power Couple Humanitarian Public

Service Award for their outstanding service to the Central Florida community.


She is the mother of two (2) beautiful college graduate daughters, two (2) adorable

grandchildren and two (2) lovely grand dogs.
